Tips for U-Pick

Introduction

  • U-pick is a fun and rewarding activity for families and individuals to enjoy.

  • Here are some helpful tips to make your U-pick experience enjoyable and hassle-free.

Preparation

  • Stop and pay at the barn before entering field.

  • Wear close-toed shoes to protect your feet from any potential hazards. There will be uneven ground.

  • Apply sun protection, such as sunscreen and wear a hat, to avoid sunburn.

  • Dress appropriate for the weather! Sometimes it can be windy and chilly out in the field.

What to bring

  • To conveniently carry your clamshell of strawberries, bring your own bag or wagon.YOU MUST USE OUR CONTAINERS.

  • We provide clippers for the pumpkins and flowers, but feel free to bring your own!

  • We provide cups to put your flowers in, but make sure to transfer them into a fresh vase when you get home!

  • We provide containers, bags and boxes to fill with delicious produce when available.

Payment

  • Cash or check preferred, however, we do accept cards for the 2025 strawberry season.

  • Pay at the barn BEFORE entering the field.

  • Don't forget to bring your camera or smartphone to take lots of pictures of your U-pick experience. Be sure to tag us online!

STRAWBERRIES

Come and be a part of our delightful community at Moccasin Grove by indulging in the experience of hand-picking your very own juicy strawberries straight from the plant! Can you believe we planted just under 40,000 plants this year?! Embrace the arrival of early spring with our much-anticipated Strawberry season, an annual event filled with joy and sweetness. We await your presence as we invite you to take part in this harvest, where you can savor the taste of Tallahassee’s finest strawberries.

PEACHES

2026 will be our third annual U-pick for peaches. Wander through the peach grove as you find the most perfect, juiciest peaches to take home. We have three varieties planted now, all ripening at different times, to allow for a longer peach season. Please do not eat peaches in the field.

Start a new family tradition each year by coming to the pumpkin patch at Moccasin Grove! Imagine the joy on your children's faces as they discover the magic of picking their very own pumpkin straight from the vine. If you prefer a pre-picked pumpkin; we have a small selection of those too. At Moccasin Grove, we believe in creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime, and what better way to do that than by exploring the pumpkin patch together? Happy fall ya’ll!
